The OPAC still lacks part of the monographic holdings of the departmental libraries published before 1999. For older monographs please search ZKM as well
The OPAC does not include journal articles!

- EZB - Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek
- The electronic journals library is a cooperative service of currently more than 500 libraries, which aims to offer its users simple and convenient access to electronically published academic journals. All journals that offering articles in full text are included.

- RUB Repository
- The RUB Repository contains digital dissertations and habilitations of the Ruhr Universität Bochum published since approximately 2015. The database provides access to the full texts.
All previous dissertations issued in electronic form are collected in the Database of Thesis. Medium-term goal is to make them available also in the RUB Repository. Additional search option: If you want to browse dissertations by year go to "Overview by faculties".

- SehKOn - Online catalogue of media for the blind and the vision impaired

The catalogue contains media for the visually impaired, (recordings, Braille books). Currently, about twenty libraries from the Federal Republic of Germany and Austria list their holdings in SehKOn.

Journals in all languages from 1500 to today with proof of ownership from approx. 4,300 German libraries. The entire journal collection of the university library of the Ruhr-Universität is included. The library identifier "NRW <294>" stands for the central university library. The departmental libraries of the Ruhr-Universität have identifiers of the "NRW <294/..."> type. Holdings in North Rhine-Westphalian libraries are easy to find because in ZDB library identifiers are grouped by counties. Watch out for the label "NRW" left to the library identifier.
